- Whole wheat pita
- Lean ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons Trader Joe’s taco mix seasoning
- 1 Avocado
- Greek yogurt
- Hot sauce
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 white or red onion
- 1 garlic clove
First, defrost the turkey, if the turkey is not frozen skip this step.
On a cutting board dice the onion and mince the garlic, set aside.
Then heat the oiled pan over medium heat and add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion becomes translucent. Add the turkey to the pan and break it apart with a wooden spoon or spatula and season with 2 tablespoons of taco mix seasoning. Cook for about 10 minutes until it is thoroughly cooked.
Once the turkey is cooked, set aside.
Heat the pitas over the open flame over the stove for about 1 minute per side.
Assemble the taco and top with mashed avocado, greek yogurt, cilantro, sprinkle of cheese and hot sauce.
