Hello everyone! Today I decided to share my favorite marinade with you. I use this marinade a lot when it come to fish, salads, chicken and tofu. It seriously is that amazing. The combination of the citrus from the lime, the kick of spice from the ginger and the warmth of the coriander, it makes any dish taste amazing. In future posts, I will show you other ways I use this marinade with the use of a secret ingredient that makes it even better.
Until then, here is my recipe to this green onion-ginger tilapia, hope you enjoy it!
Start to finish: 40 min
- 2 wild caught tilapia
- 2 tablespoons grated ginger
- 2 red thai chiles
- Green onion
- 1 tablespoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 Limes
First, preheat the oven to 350 F before prepping the tilapia. Meanwhile, line the baking sheet with foil, place the tilapia on top. In a small bowl, mix coriander, garlic salt and pepper, set aside. Chop the green onion and red thai chiles, also set aside.
In the slit of the tilapias, stuff with sliced limes – about three slices per tilapia. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture, chopped green onions and red chiles on top. Then squeeze the second lime over both and grate ginger.
Place the baking sheet into the oven, and bake for 30- 40 minutes. Make sure to keep your eye on the tilapias because depending on the size of the fish, the time will vary.
Once the timer is up, take it out and serve it with warm brown rice or yams and broccoli like I did above.
